25 on 25th!

I've officially upgraded to another age bracket!! Hahaha I'm turning 25 on the 25th of 2012!!! That is today!!! Since a couple of years back, I was thinking how shall I celebrate this day, Cos it's only once that I will turn 25 on the 25th. But God/fate has its way of twisting things around. Cos 3 weeks ago, I was selected to represent Singapore at the Pattaya International Music Festival. And we'll be flying up tomorrow!!! Yay!!! So this year I haven't really got the time or energy to want to celebrate. My whole focus and energy is solely and fully on this performance. (stay tuned for my updates on pattaya!!!)

My cousins

My wonderful family

But mummy and daddy are really sweet. Knowing I've been working extremely hard lately, they decided to make small celebrations here and there to ease my stress and make me feel like it's my birthday. Though a simple affair, which is what I prefer really, I feel so lucky to have a family like this. Because, mummy has actually been feeling rather sick, as she caught the flu, but she went out of her way to prepare my favourite foods and get family and friends down to make this birthday special. Thank you Mama!!!

Floral surprise

Mummy and Daddy brought me out to lunch on my b'day at Yoyogi at Robertson Quay. I had a wild eel rice with soba noodles. Lately I've been craving for unagi, and this is one of the better ones I've had.

Proceeded to Antoinette at Mandarin gallery for some birthday pancakes. There's been so much hype and all talk about Antoinette, and I'm the only one in my family who has yet to step into Antoinette, so i decided to make a quick detour before getting back to practice. And I must say it is well worth the wait!! The blueberry pancakes were nicely sweetened with the icing sugar and maple syrup, paired with the vanilla bean Chantilly cream..Oh so heavenly. Can't wait to go back and try the other desserts!

I thought this day would be special in the sense, I'll be spending my b'day rehearsing and preparing for the show, with no intention whatsoever to celebrate. And guess what? I went into the dance studio, and my friends surprised me with Cupcakes!!!! Awww you guys...thanks :) I was really shocked when I went in and they burst out into happy b'day with cupcakes from Plain Vanilla. Haha but we could only reward ourselves after prac. The cupcakes were super good! My favourites were the white chocolate strawberry, salted caramel, and red velvet!!

Present from my Music and Movement Boss! So touched he came down for rehearsal and remembered my b'day! Thanks Lim Sek =)

And after a whole day of rehearsal, reached home about 11pm, just when I thought what a wonderful day this was. My sister surprised me with a Passion Fruit Meringue cake from the Patissier (another of my favourites) and a lovely b'day present. What was more touching is that she stayed up waiting for me to come home when everyone else was asleep and she was just as tired. She wanted to make it special cos she heard I'm spending today working. Thanks Mei Mei!! Thanks for making my day so special. I really couldn't ask for more =)

Thanks Mei Mei. Really very touched that you made such an effort to end off my day sweetly

Now this was right after the Pattaya Performance, my aunt dawn booked a table at one of Bangkok's hottest restaurant, Vertigo! It was a roof-top alfresco dining on the 61st floor which a panoramic view of Bangkok.

I have to admit this year's birthday is special is so many ways and on so many levels. And I'm really thankful to my dearest friends and family who have made this day so memorable and sweet for me. I felt really touched and loved =) It really isn't about the presents or how big a celebration you may have. It's about the love and simple things people do out of love and concern that make you feel so blessed. Thank you!
