Dear Grandma,

Dear Grandma,

We all missed you dearly tonight while we are all at your house having you favourite foods for dinner cooked lovingly by grandpa. I wished that we could hear your laughter and see your smile and have dinner together as one big family, but God needed you more than we did.

Russell said he dreamt of you at the beach enjoying the warm summer breeze and that you are very happy. Since you love the seaside, we believe that was a sign to us that you're in a happy and peaceful place now. Despite the sadness of your loss, we felt a sense of relief for you. Seeing you suffer in pain and discomfort the past 8 months were the most heartbreaking for us, especially when you put up a brave strong fight in spite of the agony for fear that we might worry.

They say that there's a time for everything, and things happen for a reason. These past 8 months has been especially tough on you and the family, but the bond that we developed especially the past one week was quite amazing, and I believe this is the warmth and love you blessed us with. Grandma, you've always been pious and prayerful for others. But this whole week, your friends, family, church group all came together in your name to offer their prayers for you. Seeing so many people pray for you was very touching because it reflected your kindness and love towards these people and now in turn, their love towards you.

Thank you for being such a cool grandma who can cook so well and we'll never forget the taste of your famous mee siam and curry chicken, your jovial laughter and tinkle in your eyes when you talk about dancing at Vantage (my grandma is so haps she goes 'clubbing' too), the smell of your perfume, your favourite red lipstick and how you always touch-up your lips after a meal. Thank you for showing us the way by living with the faith. Please forgive us for the things we've done wrong and those we've failed to do. We love you Grandma and you'll always be in our hearts and our prayers.

Love,
your granddaughter Cheryl
